In this position, you will be responsible for Design and Release Engineering for Frame, Mounts, Spare Tire Winches, and/or Tow Hooks, with a focus on forward model development, release, and through launch.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and releasing engineering for frame, mounts, spare tire winches, and tow hooks
- Ensuring robust designs and failure mode avoidance using engineering disciplines such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan, and Engineering Specifications
- Leading design efforts to meet vehicle attributes including package, crash, durability, commercial upfitting, and thermal management
- Delivering prototype builds, PPAP, and production launch on time with quality
- Resolving durability, assembly, and functional issues
- Coaching, mentoring, and guiding peer engineers
- Delivering material cost reduction, warranty reduction, and benchmarking
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience manufacturing and developing metal components and structure
- Experience in using CAD/CAE tools and ability to optimize tool designs for stamping, welding, and sheet metal
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience manufacturing and developing metal components and structure
- CAD/CAE capable engineer with experience in 3DX, Catia, Teamcenter, stack-up tools, fastener health chart, GDT
- PPAP launch experience
- 3 years' experience in frames or structures Design and Release
