Morning News Anchor

TEGNA's NEWS CENTER Maine (WCSH/WLBZ) is seeking a Morning News Anchor to join their team in Portland. As a Morning News Anchor, you will anchor top-rated newscasts from 4:30–9 a.m., Monday through Friday, and occasionally fill in on weekend mornings. You will also produce two daily mobile shorts.

Responsibilities include:

• Anchoring newscasts and sharing the latest news with a statewide audience on broadcast and stream
• Producing two daily mobile shorts
• Being active on social media platforms such as X, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
• Utilizing tools like CUEZ, Edius, and Axis graphics

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a similar field
• 7-10 years of experience in reporting and anchoring
• Ability to fluidly and authentically anchor breaking news
• Clean, conversational broadcast writing skills
• Excellent and ethical journalistic decision-making skills

Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 USD
