Thermal Application Engineer

You will join Synopsys, the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products.

As a Thermal Application Engineer, you will work with customers solving the hardest thermal and power electronics problems in electrification. Your expertise in thermal management and electronics cooling will directly shape how customers engineer their products.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical pre-sales engagements on strategic power electronics accounts across EMEA
• Execute detailed thermal simulations on customer applications including e-motors, battery packs, fuel cells, and inverters
• Translate customer thermal management and electronics cooling requirements into actionable simulation strategies
• Mentor application engineers on the team and share power electronics best practices
• Partner with Synopsys product development teams to translate field feedback and customer requirements into new product features
• Test pre-release thermal software on real industrial problems and provide structured feedback to engineering teams
• Collaborate with field and product marketing to create technical content that generates leads and supports the sales cycle

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Power, or Material Science Engineering with 4+ years of professional experience in engineering software
• Hands-on experience using multiple Ansys thermal products including Ansys Discovery, Ansys Fluent, and Ansys Icepak
• Solid grounding in heat transfer fundamentals and thermal management of power electronics
• Working knowledge of power electronics hardware including e-motors, batteries, fuel cells, and inverters
• Scripting and automation capability in Python, IronPython, C++, or similar languages
• Fluent English in writing and speaking
