Description
The Credit Risk Manager role is part of the HSBC Innovation Banking UK (HINV) Wholesale Credit Risk Management (WCRM) team.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Director, Credit Risk on all aspects of WCRM, including:
- Wholesale Credit portfolio oversight, reporting, and analytics
- Co-ordination and preparation of materials for the HINV Credit Risk Forum
- Expected Credit Loss (ECL) oversight, forecasting, and reporting
- Co-ordination and preparation of materials for the HINV Risk Impairment Forum
- HINV Risk Appetite setting and governance
- WCRM Policy implementation
- Customer Risk Rating (CRR) methodologies and local Model Risk Management
- Wholesale Credit Risk Stewardship, including Risk Control Assessment (RCA), Issue Management, and 1LoD Controls Oversight
- Credit Approval Authority (CAA) co-ordination and oversight

The ideal candidate will have strong credit risk management experience, and desirable skills include:
- A general understanding of IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss methodology
- Data literacy – an ability to manipulate and understand large data sets
- Senior engagement – experience of preparing materials and presenting to senior stakeholders
- An understanding of venture debt or funds lending
The role is based in Finsbury Square, London, with hybrid working arrangements, requiring 2 days per week in the office.
