Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders straight to their doorsteps. You will be the face of Sainsbury's at every doorstep, making customers feel valued through a thoughtful, friendly, and helpful delivery service.
You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition. You will complete checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised, and that customers' shopping is secure before setting off.
You will follow planned routes and drive safely in a variety of locations, traffic, weather, and road conditions. You will move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver shopping to a variety of properties, which may include steps, lifts, or longer walks from the van.
You will communicate brilliantly with customers, including keeping them informed of any delays, dealing with customer queries, and any changes to their order. When not out making deliveries, you may need to help across the store as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be friendly and welcoming, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and taking pride in providing the best doorstep experience. You will be comfortable driving a larger vehicle safely in different locations, from busy residential streets and city centres to narrow country lanes.
You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment, including repeatedly moving shopping containers weighing up to 15kg. You will be able to use initiative, solve problems, and make safe decisions while out on the road.
