Description

As part of Ford's Manufacturing team, you'll help build state-of-the-art smart vehicles. You'll champion the Quality Operating System (QOS) and get satisfaction from making great products people use and love.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Plant Operating Committee, you'll keep OCM informed about quality issues.
  • Develop and mentor plant personnel on QOS, coaching and training on standard Quality Tools.
  • Champion and deliver the plant Policy Deployment Process for Quality.
  • Lead the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly Quality cadence for the plant.
  • Manage department staffing.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for customers.
  • Coordinate and co-chair monthly Local Joint Quality Meetings.
  • Drive implementation of corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D and 6-panel tools.
  • Resolve quality issues using 6-sigma tools.
  • Manage QOS stability.
  • Identify sources of variation in the production environment.
  • Execute measurement systems analysis and variable data analysis.
  • Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements.
  • Oversee layout of parts.
  • Champion Incoming Quality activity.
  • Provide feedback to departments on quality concerns from dealers and customers.
  • Act as pass-through management for Warranty and Ford Plant Concerns.
  • Review internal and external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility.
  • Coordinate real-time supplier quality concern feedback to production departments.
  • Provide IQ support for suspect component concerns.
  • Oversee review of supplier 8D's and acceptance or rejection.
  • Provide updates on suppliers to Purchasing, STA, and plant management.
  • Manage reimbursement of plant expenses due to supplier quality concerns.
  • Lead Quality in New Model Launch activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong statistical background.
  • Required language skills.
  • Demonstrate Servant Leadership behaviors and Ford+ OS behaviors of Excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quality engineering background.
  • Engineering degree.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Ford Production System/Quality Operating System.
  • Working knowledge of Data Cubes/Common Metrics, AWS, BSAQ, ECB, GQRS, and QLS.
