Producer/MSJ

KYTX CBS19, the CBS TEGNA affiliate in Tyler, Texas, is seeking an experienced Producer/Multi-Skilled Journalist. As a journalist, you will create unique, memorable, and well-written stories, sharing them across all platforms with outstanding photography and editing.

Responsibilities:

• Pitch compelling stories and lead the newscast process from ideation to execution.
• Craft and produce stories across platforms for diverse audiences, focusing on quality, accuracy, and engagement.
• Build comprehensive rundowns and select production elements to control the show's look and feel.
• Collaborate with newsroom leadership and other producers to ensure editorial consistency and technical quality.
• Lead continuous, live coverage of breaking news and community events.
• Innovate in show design and storytelling with guidance from supervisors.
• Apply data analytics to shape content and boost engagement.
• Commit to inclusive storytelling by amplifying underrepresented voices.
• Perform live shots in breaking news situations.
• Develop story ideas and maintain sources.
• Shoot, write, produce, and edit on-air and online content within deadlines.
• Use social media and digital tools to research and distribute content.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of reporting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism or similar required.
• Solid news judgment, strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills.
• Experience with Cuez, EDIUS, and Axis graphics preferred.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle live breaking news situations.
• Proven social and digital content creation ability.
