Description
We are seeking an Instructional Aide to join our team at Clarksburg Classical Academy, a public charter school serving students in the Clarksburg area. As an Instructional Aide, you will assist teachers with classroom activities, promote positive student behaviors, and help maintain a safe and positive school climate.
Responsibilities:
- Support lessons taught by teachers to individual students or groups, following instructional plans as assigned
- Help plan classroom activities as directed by teachers and support teachers in student and parent relations
- Assist with school activities such as parent-faculty nights, faculty meetings, and assemblies
- Perform clerical duties like grading papers and making copies
- Assist teachers in using classroom technology
- Help maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, lunchrooms, and other school areas
- Implement the school's philosophy and mission statement in all activities
- Other duties as assigned, including field trips, morning duty, and lunch duty
Performance Expectations:
- Work cooperatively with teachers and others
- Act in accordance with directives from administrators and teachers
- Contribute to a positive school climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards
Requirements:
- Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or passage of the Paraprofessional's Exam
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
- Ability to meet educational standards
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
- Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus
