Staff+ Software Engineer, Platform Connectivity

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced software engineers to join our Connectivity team at Anthropic. As a Staff+ Software Engineer, Platform Connectivity, you will play a crucial role in making Claude the most connected AI. You will design, build, and operate core connectivity infrastructure, focusing on reliability, enterprise trust, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the MCP proxy and OAuth/token management systems for external tool calls
• Ensure reliability and ownership of infrastructure for other teams and external partners, including SLOs, on-call, incident response, and postmortems
• Develop admin controls and permission models for enterprise IT governance
• Contribute to the MCP standard and ecosystem, including the spec and official Python/TypeScript SDKs
• Independently scope complex projects, drive cross-org alignment, and make architectural decisions
• Partner with research to productize cutting-edge capabilities

Requirements

• Experience as a backend or platform engineer
• Familiarity with AI tools in software development
• Product-focused approach to platform work with a focus on robustness, scalability, and ease of use
• Full ownership of work from design to deployment and operations
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions independently
• Experience with production distributed systems and reliability, observability, and incident response at scale
• Excellent communication skills for building consensus across teams and time zones
