Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp, offering various services such as food delivery, financial management, and ride-hailing.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join the Merchant Growth Platform PST in Malaysia. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager II and be based onsite in our Malaysia office at Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and efficient backend systems and applications
• Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for backend systems and applications
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that solutions are aligned with industry standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs in backend systems and applications

QUALIFICATIONS: What Essential Skills You Will Need:

• 4+ years of experience in backend software development with languages such as Golang, Java, or Python
• Proficiency in cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of database systems, including relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
