Description

At Ford Motor Company, you will oversee the design and release processes for various vehicle components, leading a high-performing team of engineers and designers. This pivotal role brings vehicle personalization to life, ensuring every component meets Ford's rigorous corporate standards and aligns with global cycle plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction, daily coordination, and technical mentorship for the Design, Release, and CAD systems integration team.
  • Serve as the final authority for WERS notices and ALERT authorizations, ensuring all drafting, releasing, and change-management activities are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Plan and manage engineering resources and workflows to support product development system milestones and initiatives.
  • Guarantee that all 3D CAD models and 2D drawings comply with Ford Motor Company's CAD/Drafting Standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Management, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Purchasing, and the Service Engineering Organization.
  • Lead the deployment and optimization of CAD software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technology.
  • Manage hardware, software, licensing, and training requirements for the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent) preferred, with comparable experience managing CAD and Release systems accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in automotive Design and Release (D&R), CAD, or Product Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring engineering/technical teams.
  • High proficiency in CAD/PLM environments and engineering release systems.
