Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp, providing various services such as food delivery, financial management, and transportation. We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own platform engineering initiatives end to end.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite in Petaling Jaya. You will design and run infrastructure independently, shape architecture, mentor engineers, and work directly with security, SRE, and product engineering teams.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:

• Operate and evolve large EKS clusters running CI workloads, ephemeral build and agent environments, and internal tools.
• Design and run production systems on AWS, using advanced Terraform.
• Architect and maintain GitLab CI and self-hosted runners for fast, reliable, and secure delivery.
• Automate account lifecycle, IAM, secrets, monitoring and logging, and policy guardrails.
• Build and scale the platform that runs AI coding agents in isolated, ephemeral environments.
• Build internal services, APIs, and tooling in Go or Python, with tests and code review.
• Strong systems administration, performance troubleshooting, and container internals.
• Partner with security and SRE to embed guardrails into the platform.
• Drive technical reviews, set standards, coach junior engineers.
• Translate requirements from product, security, and infra teams into shipped solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Comfortable working in a geographically distributed team.

Nice to Have:

• Running AI coding agents or LLM-backed tooling in production.
• Kubernetes operators or controllers you have written yourself.
• Service mesh, gVisor, Firecracker, or other workload isolation tech.
• Sourcegraph, Spinnaker, Ansible, or Jenkins.
• Observability stack experience (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog).
