Priory Hospital Southampton is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for a permanent, full-time position. The hospital offers therapeutic and recovery-focused residential treatment in a tranquil environment.
The successful applicant will join the team on the Sandpiper Ward, an 18-bed mixed-gender adult acute inpatient ward. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing consultant psychiatric care for up to 18 inpatients
- Leading ward rounds and delivering high-quality, patient-centred treatment
- Providing clinical leadership for the ward and supporting effective decision-making
- Supervising and supporting the Specialty Doctor and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Contributing to service development through clinical governance and audits
The ideal candidate will have experience in UK acute inpatient psychiatry, a strong background in managing patients in an acute mental health inpatient setting, and be confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
