Ford Motor Company is seeking a Controls Engineer to join the Advanced Industrial Technology & Platforms (AITP) organisation. The successful candidate will be part of the Sight Vertical, responsible for building an end-to-end business around AI/ML anomaly detection products.
The Opportunity
The Controls Engineer will define how Sight products interface with Ford controls systems, ensuring every deployment complies with FAST, OMS, safety, and OT cybersecurity requirements. The scope spans both product families, Sight.Sense and Sight.Vision, and their different controls demands.
Responsibilities
- Controls Standards and Technical Governance: Support the implementation of FAST and OMS standards, own and administer controls-related procedures and specifications, review programme deviations, and represent the Sight Vertical on relevant subcommittees.
- Controls Integration for Sight Products: Define standard controls interface patterns, specify controls and instrumentation requirements, provide senior controls expertise, and conduct programme approvals.
- Virtual Commissioning and Digital Infrastructure: Lead and support Virtual Commissioning of controls software, enable plant-floor data flows, and identify power drop and electrical infrastructure requirements.
- OT Cybersecurity and Plant-Floor Compute: Support and evidence cybersecurity compliance, implement and govern OT security protocols, and act as the primary technical liaison with IT.
- Lifecycle, Obsolescence and Industrialisation: Support the global controls obsolescence effort, reduce controls engineering effort per deployment, and support product strategies and specifications.
- Knowledge, Mentorship and Enablement: Coach engineers in controls fundamentals, build and share reusable technical guidance, and bring plant and controls reality into product discovery and architecture decisions.
