Security Program Manager - Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aiming to deliver fast and reliable internet to customers worldwide. The Amazon Leo Security team is responsible for ensuring the security of the product and operations end-to-end.

As a Security Program Manager, you will work in a start-up-like environment, backed by Amazon's infrastructure, to bootstrap security mechanisms and instill a security culture in the organization. You will be proactive in removing roadblocks, fostering innovation, and managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Create, optimize, and support cross-functional working groups and projects to enhance security capabilities.
• Manage tight deadlines with precision and drive results, exhibiting exceptional attention to detail.
• Own the program lifecycle for large, complex security initiatives spanning multiple teams and VP organizations.
• Partner with security engineers and senior technical leaders to perform program-level design reviews and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain program mechanisms to ensure security risks are tracked, escalated, and remediated.
• Simplify and streamline cross-functional processes to increase selection velocity and reduce friction for solution teams.
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to create compelling written and verbal communications for senior leadership.
• Build consensus among discordant views, escalate effectively, and ensure business and technical stakeholder needs are aligned.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
• 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience triaging security risks or vulnerabilities and ensuring they are properly understood and mitigated.
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or equivalent.
• Knowledge of one or more security domains, including access-control systems, network security, and cryptography.
• Background in satellite operations, aerospace, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience building proof-of-concept services to validate requirements.
