Internal Audit Senior Specialist

Wise is seeking a Senior Internal Audit Specialist to join its growing Internal Audit (IA) team in North America. The successful candidate will support the internal audit process for Wise entities in North America and global audits with a North America-specific scope.

The role involves:

• Supporting the IA North America leadership in creating and delivering the audit universe, risk assessment, and audit plan for all applicable entities.
• Implementing and operating the internal audit assurance framework, including developing continuous monitoring and automated audit routines.
• Delivering audits per the audit plan to ensure timely and relevant audit outcomes.
• Integrating into a strong and self-sufficient internal audit team.
• Monitoring the implementation of Internal Audit recommendations by teams and measuring the effectiveness of improvements.
• Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally.

The role requires:

• Proven experience working in risk, control, or assurance, preferably in the financial services industry or fintech.
• Familiarity with the North American regulatory landscape (OCC, CFPB, FinCEN, FINRA, State regulators, RPAA, Bank of Canada).
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex areas, and solve problems with minimal guidance.
• Strong coordination skills and ability to hold teams accountable for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs.
• Passion for driving change, making improvements, and helping stakeholders.

Qualifications include:

• 4+ years of experience in an external or internal audit/assurance/internal controls role within the financial services industry, fintech, or technology company.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least one professional certification or actively working towards one: CFE/CIA/CISA/CPA/CAMS.
