Advanced Software Engineer, Online Services - American Football

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Software Engineer to join our Online Services team for American Football. As part of this role, you will help build networked game experiences for EA Sports titles, focusing on delivering excellent game experiences through efficient and effective code.

Responsibilities:

• Implement server features, components, and services using EA's Digital Platform technologies.
• Create and maintain client code to support features and improve multiplayer experiences.
• Optimize client and server online systems for latency, reliability, scalability, performance, and memory.
• Design and iterate on architecture and infrastructure improvements for live systems and workflows.
• Collaborate with partner teams to stand up and maintain online infrastructure and services for the title.
• Own experiences through the full stack, from UI in the game client to backend services and databases.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in C#/.NET for backend services and C++ for Unreal Engine game development.
• Experience with multi-threaded/concurrent architectures.
• Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, SQL, Redis).
• Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with networked applications or features.
• Experience working with Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo game consoles.
• Experience with network optimization and improving service reliability.
• Experience with log analysis and tools like Splunk.
• Experience with Linux.
• Experience with Visual Studio and debugging tools.
