Staff Product Designer - Okta Identity Governance

Okta is looking for a Staff Product Designer to shape its expansive product portfolio by bringing exceptional craft and fresh perspective to the world of identity and security. The successful candidate will design the user experience for Okta Identity Governance, which helps large companies manage access to resources and ensure compliance with auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the long-term design strategy for the product area, shaping its direction across multiple releases.
• Partner with design leadership to define patterns and standards for other designers.
• Lead through influence, aligning product, engineering, research, and content partners around a direction.
• Design end-to-end journeys that span the Okta portfolio and multiple personas.
• Bring a systems-thinking lens, connecting user insights to business goals.
• Facilitate co-creation workshops with Product Management and Engineering.
• Mentor senior designers and support their growth and career development.
• Present ideas and concepts to adjacent teams and senior leadership.
• Advocate for the thoughtful use of AI in the design process.

Requirements:

• Experience leading cross-discipline teams and seeing design as a partner with PM and Engineering.
• Ability to move between big-picture thinking and detail.
• Teaching and mentoring skills.
• Thought leadership in exploring new technologies and territories.
• Passion for crafting and sharing product and design UX principles.
• Experience working with AI in the design process.
• User goal-focused solution building.
• Comfortable owning all stages of design within a given product area.
• Strong storytelling skills.
• Portfolio showcasing complex and challenging technical projects.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a related field or relevant work experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer.
• Proficient in Figma or similar design tools.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Digital portfolio showing depth across a variety of projects.
• 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer.

Salary Range:

• $156,000-$215,000 USD
