Systems Analyst I - Plant Floor Systems

We are seeking a Systems Analyst I - Plant Floor Systems to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Timmonsville, South Carolina. The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing departments and plant floor engineers to deploy and support machine-facing plant floor systems.

Job Purpose The Systems Analyst (SA) works closely with people internal and external to the organization, applying analysis and design techniques, expert business domain knowledge, and expert knowledge of the systems deployed therein, to solve business problems using information technology solutions.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop a detailed understanding of existing plant floor computer systems and troubleshoot problems from a business function and technical design perspective.
• Quickly understand plant floor computer systems functionality, identify points of failure, and troubleshoot issues with operating systems, computer hardware, robots, PLCs, HMIs, networking hardware, and communications configurations.
• Develop or contribute to detailed technical specifications for modifying or enhancing existing systems or developing new systems.
• Work with and communicate with various business people at different levels, including department engineers, architect teams, database admins, software developers, quality assurance teams, department leadership, and third-party vendors.
• Participate in the integration process with third-party software vendors.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Analysis, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Networking, Electrical, Electronics engineering, or a related STEM field of study.
• At least 3 years of related industrial experience.
• Experience with Windows 11 and/or Windows LTSC, as well as prior experience with points of failure, basic networking protocols, and understanding of networking and server fundamentals.
• Understanding of PLCs and HMIs.
• PC hardware knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially PowerPoint and Word.

Workstyle

• This is an onsite job with one remote workday per week possible with prior departmental approval.
• Travel requirements: up to 25%, largely domestic and very rarely international.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle at the proving grounds, if required.
