Team Leader

We are seeking a Team Leader to support the Site Manager and oversee the operational management of the contract in the delivery of Security and Cleaning services for the client at the Viking Shopping Centre in Jarrow.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading and engaging with the team to deliver high-quality cleaning services externally in all areas of the shopping centre
• Carrying out daily cleaning audits and managing completion of areas identified
• Setting up, stocking, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies
• Monitoring and maintaining sanitation and organisation of assigned areas
• Assisting the Centre Manager when needed to ensure optimum service to clients
• Performing additional duties as needed
• Complying with monthly training sessions delivered by the supervisor/line manager as necessary
• Providing training to the team
• Ensuring that the team is responsive to any spillages and callouts from the clients on-site team
• Communicating effectively with the team and line manager
• Ensuring that yourself and the team wear protective clothing (PPE) and comply with Health & Safety legislation and policies

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar cleaning/security supervisory role
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to quickly adapt to a busy operational environment
• Reliable and flexible approach to work
• Excellent written and verbal skills in English
• Ability to use own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Approachable and courteous manner
• Understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion in a busy shopping centre

Qualifications:

• Health and Safety Certificate
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Door Supervisor SIA Licence
• CCTV SIA Licence
