Head of Operations, Space Orbital Systems

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology.

Anduril's Space Orbital Systems team is dedicated to expanding AI-powered capabilities into space, enhancing Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners.

We are looking for a Head of Operations to join our rapidly growing Space Orbital Systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for all business operations for the team.

Responsibilities:

• Drive day-to-day business operations for the Space Business line, including business planning, organization design, talent planning, people operations, real estate, facility planning, security, infrastructure compliance, proposal support, legal support, and sharing the division's narrative.
• Work with the growth team to define and synthesize the growth strategy for Space Orbital Systems Business in partnership with the Space Leadership Team.
• Support the growth, execution, and engineering of the business line with operational support.
• Lead strategic initiatives in line with Business Line priorities.
• Problem-solve to enable the Business Line to operate efficiently and scale accordingly.
• Own managing the Business Line Profit/Loss and burn rate, working closely with Anduril finance.
• Build senior leader engagement and external interface strategy.
• Build, negotiate, and execute partnerships across industry.
• Support Merger and Acquisition activity.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional experience in operations.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to solve operational problems in a data-driven and people-centric way.
• High ownership with sufficient capacity to manage multiple large projects and priorities in parallel.
• Solid technical aptitude and proven ability to understand technical designs and work closely with engineering teams.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week at our HQ in Costa Mesa, CA.
• Minimum 25% travel expected.
• Able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or similar degree.
• Experience working with engineers and bringing hardware/software products to market.
• Experience in the Space Industry.
• Experience working effectively in a matrix organization structure.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Salary Range: $166,000-$220,000 USD
