Entity Controller

Stripe is seeking an experienced Entity Controller to join its International Accounting team in Dublin. As a key part of the controllership team, you will help build technical accounting and financial reporting processes, work with business partners, financial partners, external stakeholders, and engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Financial Close Processes: Manage the monthly close of US GAAP books and local books, including balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, flux analysis, and reporting deliverables.
• Statutory Audit Process: Own the financial statement preparation, technical memos, audit support, culminating in presentations to the board of directors.
• Technical Expertise: Maintain fluency with US GAAP and IFRS/ FRS102, producing necessary technical accounting memos.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with Tax, Transfer Pricing, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, and Legal teams on diverse projects.
• Outsourcing Management: Supervise finance outsourcing partners to ensure compliance and filing requirements are met timely and accurately.
• Process Efficiency: Enhance existing processes through simplification and automation to drive efficiencies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on changes in accounting and tax regulations in Ireland.
• Tax Review: Oversee the preparation & review of direct and indirect tax returns.

Requirements:

• 8+ years in accounting, preferably trained in audit (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting systems (Oracle or equivalent).
• Experience with large audits (central and local teams) and tax filings.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and FRS102/ IFRS.
• Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional initiatives.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English.
• Flexible with changing requirements in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA certification.
• Consolidation experience.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance background.
• Strong passion for solving complex challenges.
• Self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of or experience in the payments, fin-tech, or financial services industries.
• Accounting experience in a fast-growing tech environment.
• Hubble/SQL experience beneficial.
