Description
Leidos Homeland Group is seeking a dynamic Material Handler in Chesapeake, VA. The role involves completing parts packaging according to specialized requirements, fabricating shipping labels, coordinating special shipping needs, and maintaining accurate shipping records.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing inventory to meet customer demand while minimizing costs
- Strategizing and coordinating the movement of goods
- Implementing and managing logistics systems
- Controlling the acquisition, storage, and distribution of materials
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements
- Overseeing warehousing operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and previous warehouse experience
- Self-starter with experience operating a forklift and basic computer skills
- Experience with FedEx, On-Site Power Ship, and Microsoft Access
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and inventory control
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency with computer database systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
The pay range for this position is $35,750.00 - $64,625.00.
