As a key player in promoting the voice of nursing leadership, you will be responsible for staying engaged and current on policy issues at the local, state, and federal levels.
Your role involves informing nursing leaders about current developments in the federal arena and encouraging them to act on health and patient care issues that impact their ability to provide safe, accessible, and quality patient care services.
Key areas of focus include:
- Tracking legislative issues at the state level, including accessing information from the Indiana Hospital Association website
- Monitoring federal legislation through the Indiana Hospital Association's Bill Track and the American Hospital Association website
- Accessing contact information for local representatives to the Indiana General Assembly and Indiana's elected representatives to the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate
- Utilizing online resources such as Bill Track and Gov Track to follow bills within the 50 states and at the congressional level
