The Intermediary Relationship Manager will help grow State Street Investment Management's intermediary business across Greater China, focusing primarily on Hong Kong while supporting Taiwan, Macau, and China. The role combines direct client coverage with support for the Head of Intermediary Greater China to strengthen client service, pipeline development, and execution across multiple markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Head of Intermediary Greater China to deliver an integrated coverage plan across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, and China.
  • Build and maintain relationships with allocated intermediary clients and prospects, including online brokers, traditional brokers, financial advisers, banks, family offices, private wealth firms, asset managers, and MPFs.
  • Undertake proactive and reactive client engagement, with approximately 50% of time focused on virtual/phone-based outreach, qualification, and follow-up.
  • Support a target cadence of 25-30 client meetings per month through meeting preparation, coordination, participation, and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline, progress opportunities through the sales cycle, and contribute progressively to revenue and Net New Assets growth.
  • Execute targeted sales and marketing campaigns, including client follow-up arising from events, thought leadership, and product initiatives.
  • Support the distribution of investment solutions across the client segment.
  • Use Salesforce consistently to maintain accurate client, activity, and pipeline data, support segmentation, and improve sales effectiveness.
  • Identify client needs and communicate relevant State Street Investment Management investment insights, products, and capabilities clearly and appropriately.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Product, Investment, Operations, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to support timely and high-quality client outcomes.
  • Monitor intermediary market, competitor, and product developments across Greater China and share actionable insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Operate in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and State Street policies, procedures, and conduct standards.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in asset management, wealth management, financial services distribution, or client relationship management.
  • Demonstrated client-facing capability and experience supporting or executing sales and relationship-management activity.
  • Knowledge of intermediary client segments in Hong Kong and, ideally, broader Greater China markets.
  • Experience with ETFs and other investment solutions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise client activity, manage follow-up, and contribute to sales plans and campaigns.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant Hong Kong regulatory licenses (Type 1 and Type 4) are required for the role, or the ability to obtain them within an agreed timeframe.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of investment products, portfolio construction, and asset allocation concepts.
  • Understanding of ETF distribution and usage across intermediary and wealth channels.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform, with strong discipline in activity and pipeline management.
  • Ability to interpret client needs and translate investment information into clear, relevant client communications.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Sound judgement and a strong commitment to risk, compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional fluency in English and Chinese; Cantonese and/or Mandarin capability is highly desirable for client coverage across the region.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Inclusive development opportunities
  • Flexible work-life support
  • Paid volunteer days
  • Vibrant employee networks
