Description

You will own a product area's manufacturing on Fury, driving manufacturability, building tooling, developing process flows, and documenting the build for aircraft-class structural and electromechanical hardware, from prototype through rate.
Responsibilities
- Own a portion of the manufacturing value chain for a product, from prototype through rate.
- Develop tooling for the fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
- Develop process flows that break complex assemblies into a logical flow of subassemblies and sub-processes.
- Author build documentation, including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
- Work with contract manufacturers across PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and assembly to develop repeatable processes.
- Build prototype hardware hands-on with technicians and other engineers, and root-cause and resolve floor issues.
- Operate with incomplete or still-evolving design inputs: ask the right questions, work from first principles, and create structure where none yet exists.
Requirements
- 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, or equivalent hands-on build experience.
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
- ME fundamentals across drawings and GD&T, DFM, work instructions, and tooling, with comfort in ambiguity and rate.
- You have physically built hardware through machining, fabrication, composite layup, or assembly; personal projects count.
- CAD proficiency, and exposure to production-planning tools such as ERP and MES.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aircraft structures, composites, or advanced manufacturing.
- High-rate manufacturing background in an adjacent industry such as aerospace, automotive and EV, industrial, or medical device.
- Hands-on experience with R/C or autonomous flight systems, plus automation and robotics.
