Description

The Assistant Storekeeper is responsible for assisting in managing the team working in the Hotel Stores, including maintaining inventory stock levels and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Storekeeper assists the Provision Master and/or Assistant Provision Master in various tasks:

  • Supervising the issuing of goods and participating in it according to Onboard Accounting Policy and Procedure 6.04.
  • Implementing and executing proper maintenance and cleaning procedures in all storeroom areas.
  • Assisting in work planning and schedules for all storeroom employees.

General Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the overall direction and supervision of all employees assigned to the Storeroom operation.
  • Participating physically in the storing of goods and checking their condition and storage to meet health and sanitation standards.
  • Reporting discrepancies in the inventory list and any malfunctioning equipment or furnishings.
  • Performing the tasks of the Provision Master and/or Assistant Provision Master when they are not present.
  • Having adequate reading and writing English language skills to understand instructions and communicate with fellow crew and officers.
  • Complying with company policy regarding waste separation and environmental compliance.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Requirements include:

  • Vocational education or higher.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in the storeroom operation in the cruise industry.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal English communication.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers and ability to navigate basic computer programs.
  • Leadership, training, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle constantly changing priorities.
