Description
Leidos' Defense Systems Land Systems Business Area, RF Systems Division, is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to join its team in Chesapeake, VA. The successful candidate will operate and maintain a complex radar system in the National Capitol Region.
Responsibilities:
- Install, integrate, configure, and troubleshoot a complex radar system
- Assemble and troubleshoot electronic systems, including mechanical parts and cable harnesses
- Perform system integration and checkout of modified and repaired equipment
- Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare and submit reports of equipment discrepancies and possible solutions
- Devise and implement preventive maintenance programs and maintain performance records
- Keep accurate parts and equipment inventory records
- Work effectively in a team environment and under minimal supervision in the field
- Travel and work long hours in adverse weather conditions
Requirements:
- Active DoD SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Formal training in Basic Electronics & Electricity, RF, Digital & Analog principles, and solid-state electronics
- Testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation experience with digital, analog, and RF level electronics
- Understanding of military communications systems and encryption devices
- Proficiency with standard test equipment and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Linux operating system environment
- Experience handling and maintaining COMSEC equipment
- 1+ year Tower climbing experience
- HVAC maintenance and repair experience
The pay range for this position is $73,450.00 - $132,775.00.
