Description
LSEG is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Index Process Automation team within FTSE Russell Operations. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an AWS-hosted web application using React and Python. Your primary focus will be on centralizing automation, innovation, and research to design, develop, and implement process improvements and simplification.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the demonstration of adherence to LSEG Data standard policies and procedures
- Adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed for projects
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with industry trends and best practices
- Develop and maintain web applications using React and Python
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Optimize applications and code for speed and scalability
- Fix and debug applications to improve performance
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team's best practices
- Document data ownership and establish integrations with enterprise data repositories
Requirements:
- Proven experience of a Python developer with 3+ years in an enterprise environment
- Solid understanding of OOP principles, experience using common libraries for data manipulation (pandas, NumPy, datetime, regex functions)
- 2+ years of front-end development with experience in React, JS, HTML, and CSS
- 1+ year of experience in SQL Server writing basic queries and executing SP's
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, GitLab)
- Experience in creating comprehensive documentation using systems like Confluence and bug tracking software like Jira
- Proficient in using testing frameworks (unit test, pytest, Jest) to ensure code quality and maintainability
