Description
This position conducts research on specific organisations, securities, financial products, and the broader economic environment. The role involves combining fundamental analysis with approved AI, advanced analytics, and alternative data to identify material patterns, test investment hypotheses, assess market implications, and develop forecasts.
The incumbent analyses equity securities of companies headquartered in emerging Asian markets and delivers strategic insights and recommendations to portfolio managers. It involves the use of AI-enabled workflows to accelerate data extraction, synthesis, scenario analysis, model maintenance, and research production, enabling greater focus on judgement and actionable conclusions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental research using financial, operating, management, industry, and approved alternative data
- Support Investment Directors and Fund Managers through robust financial and valuation models, model-portfolio and risk monitoring, and timely market updates
- Identify macro, industry, and company trends; build scenarios; assess earnings, valuations, catalysts, and risks
- Conduct primary research through management meetings, industry engagement, and site visits
- Present concise, evidence-based views at weekly team and quarterly investment meetings
- Work closely with other team members to develop and enhance data management and analytics capabilities
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- A minimum of 8 years’ buy/sell-side research experience
- In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong and China equity markets
- Knowledge of, or experience covering, the healthcare sector is preferred
