Training as an Electronics Engineer for Automation Technology

Are you eager to understand and bring technology to life? You're in the right place! During your training, you'll learn how to programme robots, install systems, and design digital processes.

Duration and Start Date Your training will last 3.5 years, starting on 01 September 2027.

Salary You'll receive a tariff-based training remuneration, gross per month:

• 1st year of training: €1,261
• 2nd year of training: €1,328
• 3rd year of training: €1,419
• 4th year of training: €1,485

Plus: holiday and Christmas bonuses.

Working Hours and Holiday Entitlement You'll work 37.5 hours a week, with up to 53 free days per year, including 30 holiday days.

Vocational School You'll attend the Werner-von-Siemens Vocational College in Cologne, with block teaching.

Responsibilities

• Installing, programming, and maintaining robots and PLC systems
• Electrical engineering basics: control technology, electro-pneumatics, and PLC programming
• Designing digital processes (e.g., HTML/web technology)
• Practical work: assembling components and wiring, conducting measurements, troubleshooting faults
• Future technology: modern control systems and robot systems

Requirements

• Mainstream school leaving certificate after Year 10 or higher
• Interest in maths, physics, and technology
• Manual dexterity, concentration ability
• Enjoyment of teamwork and practical training
