Manufacturing Apprentice

As a Manufacturing Apprentice at Crosby Composites, you will be based in Brackley and work across the Melt-Out and CNC departments, gaining hands-on experience in advanced composite manufacturing.

You will learn to manufacture and prepare components, patterns, moulds, and tooling, working to strict safety, quality, and production requirements.

The apprenticeship will provide you with practical manufacturing skills and an understanding of CNC machining and Melt-Out processes.

Responsibilities:

Melt-Out:

• Final preparation of patterns, moulds, and castings
• Carrying out Melt-Out processes
• Using hand tools, small air tools, and abrasive paper
• Preparing components and tooling for subsequent manufacturing processes
• Inspecting work for quality standards
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings and process instructions

CNC:

• Developing practical skills and knowledge in CNC department
• Operating CNC machinery safely and effectively
• Preparing materials, tooling, and components for CNC machining
• Understanding CNC machining processes and programmes
• Carrying out basic inspection and dimensional checks

General Manufacturing Responsibilities:

• Helping achieve daily production requirements
• Working efficiently with high standards of workmanship
• Identifying and developing processes to improve quality and efficiency
• Working independently when required
• Maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
