Description

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced and technically strong Commodity Calibration Supervisor to lead a team responsible for the calibration development of the 2.5L xHEV powertrain control system and hybrid controller across multiple vehicle programs.

The successful candidate will manage a team of calibration engineers, coordinate cross-functionally with systems engineering, software, hardware, and vehicle program teams, and serve as the technical and people leader driving on-time, high-quality calibration releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of calibration engineers responsible for 2.5L xHEV commodity calibration development, including engine and hybrid controls.
  • Own the commodity calibration strategy , defining a common calibration base/content that can be efficiently leveraged and tailored across multiple vehicle programs and model years.
  • Drive calibration development, validation, and sign-off in accordance with program timing and milestones.
  • Ensure calibrations meet performance, drivability, fuel economy/CO2, tailpipe and evap emissions (EPA/CARB/EU), NVH, and OBD requirements.
  • Collaborate with Core/Systems Engineering, Software, Controls, Hardware, Test & Validation, and Vehicle Program teams to resolve technical issues and align calibration deliverables.
  • Manage calibration DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report), test schedules, vehicle test requests, and data analysis workflows.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for calibration-related warranty, quality, and field issues.
  • Support cost, complexity reduction, and part-count reduction efforts through commodity/shared calibration strategies.
  • Manage team resource planning, workload balancing, performance reviews, and career development for direct reports.
  • Present calibration status, risks, and technical reviews to senior engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Ford engineering standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support global calibration strategy alignment where applicable (e.g., North America, China, Europe).
  • Transform calibration deliverables. Create efficiencies and tools.
