Senior Mobile Engineer (Android)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer (Android) to join our Growth Engineering team at EarnIn. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will play a key role in accelerating customer acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention by working on high-impact web and mobile projects.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, design, and analytics teams to define and solve problems, including writing specifications and implementing solutions.
• Build and refine systems that drive acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention, deciding what to test, when to ship, and how to measure results.
• Work across multiple stacks as needed, owning Android but contributing to iOS, backend, or web (React/TypeScript) when necessary.
• Utilize AI-native development workflows, including AI coding tools and agents for cross-stack code generation, spec-driven development, and faster iteration.
• Translate customer pain points and business goals into technical solutions, pushing back when data suggests a better approach.
• Run and instrument experiments to validate that shipped features move growth metrics, and eliminate ineffective solutions.
• Develop scalable architecture that enables the organization to remain agile as it expands.
• Drive decisions on app development and testing strategies and methodologies.
• Ship iteratively, prioritizing ruthlessly, scoping MVPs, and balancing speed against quality.
• Create unit and automation tests to ensure new code doesn't break existing features and meets product requirements.
• Own projects end-to-end, from specification through launch and iteration, with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience building, shipping, and maintaining mobile applications at scale, with a strong focus on Android.
• Strong ownership and willingness to work across stacks, with a growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity.
• Fluency in Kotlin, with a strong grasp of reactive and functional paradigms.
• Proven experience with modern Android app architectures and Jetpack components.
• Deep understanding of Android UI frameworks, including XML layouts and Jetpack Compose.
• Hands-on knowledge of software engineering best practices across the full SDLC.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Experience with mobile analytics and experimentation tooling is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with iOS development, backend development, or web (React/TypeScript) is a significant plus.
