Intern - Biotechnologist (Protein)

We are seeking an Intern - Biotechnologist (Protein) to join our team in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

Protein Expression

• Perform experiments with mammalian cells like HEK293 and CHO, including resuscitation, passage, transfection, and culture.
• Analyse and process data from cell culture experiments, preparing records and reports.
• Operate equipment such as bioreactors and centrifuges, and prepare buffers and reagents.
• Update and formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), summarising work experiences.
• Manage instruments and perform maintenance as required.

Protein Purification

• Purify mammalian recombinant antibodies and proteins using techniques like affinity chromatography and size exclusion chromatography.
• Formulate purification schemes based on order requirements.
• Maintain accurate records related to purification experiments.
• Update and formulate SOPs, summarising work experiences.
• Manage instruments and perform maintenance as required.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
• Practical laboratory experience in recombinant protein/antibody expression.
• Familiarity with mammalian cell-culture, chromatography, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, HPLC, and other protein detection methods is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Availability to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.
