Lead Full Stack Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence.

Purpose of the role As a Lead Full Stack Engineer at Barclays, you will design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience in Full Stack Software Engineering within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong experience in back-end development using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience in Database Technologies - SQL and NoSQL (Oracle / Mongo).
• Experience with DevSecOps - PaaS Openshift / K8S, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma, and Wiz, Maven or Gradle.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and software quality engineering.
• Experience with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka and Message Queues.
• Experience of Rapid Application Development using AI models like Claude, GitLab Duo.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of Computer Science, Object-Oriented Design, and Data Structures.
