As an Assistant Management Accountant in our Finance team, you'll handle day-to-day finance tasks, prepare monthly management accounts, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations to support effective cash forecasting
  • Review weekly payment runs, including GBP and other currencies, with three-way checks against delivery notes, purchase orders, and invoices
  • Manage control accounts, including prepayments and accruals postings, and ensure lead schedules reconcile to the trial balance
  • Process intercompany sales and purchase invoices, ensuring correct prices are charged, and agree intercompany balances
  • Review transactions to ensure costs are allocated to the correct nominal code
  • Conduct cost of Goods analysis, review, and commentary, including quarterly stock provisions
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, post depreciation monthly, and review capex
  • Prepare VAT returns, review and prepare quarterly returns, and perform VAT deferment reconciliation
  • Support regular reporting for Manufacturing room Managers
  • Participate in monthly stock checks and report findings
  • Assist the Purchase Ledger team with queries and issue resolution
  • Support year-end and audit with reviewing financial transactions

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

  • 3+ years of experience in a finance role, working in a team, with a hands-on approach
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry processes
  • Strong Excel, IT, and online banking skills, including Google Workspace and functions like VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly telephone manner
  • 'Can-do' approach with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with systems like ERP Next, MayDay, Xero, Rydoo is advantageous
  • Interest in Lush's ethics and willingness to learn and challenge existing processes
  • Studying towards a finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT) is desirable
