Description
AVL Mobility Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated engineer to join our team as a Project Engineer II - DRE. The successful candidate will provide technical, program, and account management expertise to cross-functional business development and engineering program team execution activities.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and formulates workflow to meet specified deadlines with minimal supervision
- Leads specific phases of projects, including technical studies, specification writing, and establishing technical plans
- Develops, coordinates, and drives own engineering activities
- Initiates and coordinates design FMEA's, project meetings, design reviews, and sign-off reviews
- Responsible for reports and presentations to internal and external customers
- Resolves engineering and design conflicts, and escalates to project management or chief engineer as needed
- Maintains interface with other systems of the overall project
- Owns system engineering tasks, including architecture, resolving design constraints, and establishing interfaces
- Coordinates input from other skill teams, supplier negotiations, and lead-time planning
- Drives release/sign-off process and ensures targets are met
- Provides engineering leadership to project teams
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
- Master's degree preferred
- 3-5+ years' experience in stationary energy storage system design
- Excellent knowledge of more than one area of stationary energy storage systems
- CAD skills, preferably Siemens NX
- System engineering process skills, including P-diagrams, DFMEA's, and DVP&R
- Team leader skills, communication, and presentation skills
- Good understanding of CAE tools and practices, mechanical development, and quality management tools
