Supplier Process Senior Engineer

We are seeking a qualified Supplier Process Senior Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company. The successful candidate will support supplier delivery and characteristic improvement activity with automotive part suppliers in North America.

The Supplier Process Sr. Engineer position involves evaluating negative delivery, production, inventory management, plant/equipment, sub-supplier management, packaging control, and/or workforce trends within the supply base. The ideal candidate will develop and implement systemic countermeasures to ensure acceptable delivery characteristics for Honda products and parts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting supplier improvement activity as part of the Department Business plan
• Identifying problems on a systemic level and conducting problem analysis/situation appraisal
• Performing in-depth analysis related to the supplier's production planning, results, and/or current business practices
• Championing engagement strategies for suppliers that are causing impact/risk to Honda
• Coordinating activity with concerned suppliers to understand current progress to overall SAP
• Evaluating NARS reports and applicable parts to identify actual and potential problems
• Serving as the subject matter expert to support and/or train Delivery associates
• Collaborating in supplier selection activity with cross-functional areas
• Providing support after initial supplier crisis activity, as needed

The successful candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience
• 2-8 years of relevant experience
• General knowledge of manufacturing environment and engineering principles
• Delivery-specific knowledge of production planning, efficiency/OEE, labelling, inventory management, plant/equipment, sub-supplier management, process control
• Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, injection molding, paint, casting, machining, etc.)
• Honda systems knowledge (NARS, CMS, GPCS, APS, NAPS, QMF, CPCS)
• Strong interpersonal skills, high-impact communication skills, project management skills, and Microsoft Office
