Director, Head of Private Equity

Brex is seeking a Director, Head of Private Equity to lead and scale its private equity partnerships organisation.

The successful candidate will own the full private equity channel strategy, setting direction, managing and growing the team, holding the most senior sponsor relationships, and driving the referral engine that turns private equity firms into durable, high-conviction distribution partners for Brex.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, develop, and manage a team of Partner Managers across East Coast, West Coast, and emerging private equity geographies
• Own the private equity channel strategy end-to-end, including target firm prioritisation, coverage model, engagement motion, and referral conversion
• Build the internal case for channel investment and headcount, presenting performance and roadmap to senior leadership
• Personally own and deepen relationships with the most strategic Tier 1 private equity firms
• Represent Brex across the private equity ecosystem at premier industry events, dinners, and conferences

Requirements:

• 8–12+ years of experience in private equity business development, financial services sales, partnerships, or a related senior role
• 4+ years of people management experience
• Established senior-level relationships within the New York private equity community
• Proven channel builder with experience standing up or significantly scaling a partnerships motion
• Strong commercial instincts and excellent written and verbal communication skills

The expected OTE range for this role is $355,950 - $395,500.
