Description
We are seeking a Driver to join our team at Circle Health Group Decontamination, which operates 24/7 and is responsible for providing sterile equipment and instrumentation for surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow.
As a bank role, you will work on an 'as and when required' basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Collecting contaminated trolleys from hospitals and clinics and delivering them to the CHG decontamination facility
- Returning clean trolleys containing reprocessed scopes and instruments to clinical departments in a safe, timely, and courteous manner
- Performing daily vehicle checks, monitoring fuel, oil, tyre pressure, and reporting any defects immediately
- Keeping the vehicle clean, presentable, and in good working order, both inside and out
- Serving as a key communication link between customers and the decontamination unit, relaying any customer concerns, delivery issues, or queries to the appropriate internal contact
- Maintaining professional conduct and building positive working relationships with hospital and clinic staff
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence (Category B), valid for operation of vehicles up to and including 3.5t
- Have proven experience of driving vans with tail lifts, ideally in a commercial or healthcare setting
- Be comfortable driving in urban and rural environments, in all weather conditions, and under time pressure
- Be able to carry out manual handling and lifting duties safely, with appropriate training
- Have a good standard of general education, with the ability to complete delivery logs and read route instructions
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or public holidays if required
- Have a commitment to maintaining vehicle hygiene and safety standards
In return, Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £12.81 per hour, depending on level of experience, training, and qualification.
