Senior Software Engineer

Job Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Flexport, you will develop products that reshape the logistics and supply chain industries. You will work alongside self-starters interested in solving real-world problems and streamlining inefficiencies in global trade.

Responsibilities

• Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in a microservice architecture.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain systems representing real-world logistics entities.
• Collaborate with top engineers to solve complex business and technical problems.
• Architect and drive major projects while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Work closely with business partners and product managers to distill complex business problems into elegant technical solutions.
• Build and launch products rapidly and incrementally.
• Mentor and educate the larger software engineering community on trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Ensure products maintain a high-quality bar.
• Tackle difficult system-level issues, emphasizing simplicity and long-lasting designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience writing software and a strong engineering background.
• 3+ years of design and architecture knowledge, familiar with object-oriented analysis and design patterns.
• Experience building large-scale, high-performance systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Ruby, Python, or C++.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
