Description
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and ambitious Clinical Fellow in Glaucoma for a 12-month fixed-term appointment based across Western Eye Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital.
The successful candidate will join a highly regarded glaucoma team providing specialist care to a diverse patient population across North West London and beyond. The post is designed to provide advanced experience in all aspects of glaucoma management, including:
- Glaucoma outpatient clinics
- Virtual glaucoma services
- Laser procedures
- Cataract surgery in patients with glaucoma
- Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)
- Surgical exposure to trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage devices
- Multidisciplinary working alongside consultants, specialist nurses, optometrists and allied healthcare professionals
The post holder will be involved in:
- Out-patient care of Glaucoma patients
- Ad hoc care and emergencies and to be available for advice when off site
- To undertake A&E sessions at the Western Eye Hospital
- To maintain good communication with GP, optometrists, hospital clinicians and other allied professionals
- To provide teaching to medical students, other junior doctors, optometrists
- To assist in academic and pharmaceutical research activities within the department
- To assist in the management and development of the clinical service
