Building Substitute Teacher

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Building Substitute Teacher at Lorain Preparatory Academy in Lorain, Ohio. The teacher will provide a superior education for all students.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and delivering lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year
• Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintaining accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Utilizing research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
• Managing student behavior in the classroom
• Creating a positive classroom environment for students to learn in
• Implementing school-wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicating and meeting with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth
• Incorporating technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning
• Participating in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities as needed
• Collaborating and communicating effectively with colleagues

Requirements:

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to properly manage confidential information
• Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working within an urban environment
