Description

We are seeking Assistant IT Manager(s) to join Prof Gary Chan's research group in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at HKUST. The successful candidates will work on one of three projects: Indoor Localization, IoT Sensing, or Video/Data Analytics. The role involves participating in the design, research, development, and trial processes to create products that can be easily extended, integrated, and maintained.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working in a team-oriented environment to develop state-of-the-art technologies
  • Participating in full software product life cycles
  • Providing leadership in design, research, development, and trial processes

Requirements:

  • Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science
  • Solid background in network programming
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in C/C++/JAVA software development in Linux and/or Visual Studio
  • Experience with embedded system development, scripting, and cross-compilation for IoT Sensing project
  • Solid background in wireless networks, web programming, or mobile programming
  • Experience in deep learning, machine learning, big data, database, and middleware development is a plus
