Intervention Specialist

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified Intervention Specialist at Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

Responsibilities include:

• Working cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities, assist in classroom intervention strategies, modify general education curriculum, and help students with regular class assignments
• Conducting diagnostic assessments for instruction and functional behavior assessments
• Writing and implementing behavior improvement plans
• Facilitating IEP Meetings and writing IEP goals and objectives
• Focusing on student achievement and culture goals, as well as state-specific achievement goals
• Utilizing research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
• Integrating culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions
• Serving as an advisor for a designated set of students
• Communicating regularly with families regarding student academic and social-emotional growth
• Participating in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips

Requirements:

• Current state license
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience working in a full-room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment
• High-quality written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
