Description
Mastercard is seeking a Director, Software Engineering to lead the development of MasterCard Enterprise security solutions dispute products. The successful candidate will provide management direction and recommend strategic directions based on established policy. They will have project and release management responsibilities, and will lead and manage staff to ensure staffing, training and objective setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and technical direction to a software development team across PDLC (Product Delivery Lifecycle).
- Establish a great working relationship with people outside of the development team, including Product Managers and other functional teams within the organization.
- Ensure product development meets MasterCard’s business needs.
- Ensure development teams use the appropriate MasterCard standard development methodologies and follow technology standards.
- Establish and monitor objectives for the department and staff members to align with department strategies and objectives.
- Successfully lead definition, development and delivery of major cross-department initiatives with broad scope and long-term business implications.
- Provide recommendation to Senior Management on selection of technologies and strategic technical direction for the department.
- Lead implementation of processes and supporting tools per the evolving needs of the organization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and architects to technically and functionally align.
- Ensure the project or effort is adequately staffed, trained and managed.
- Build and maintain high team morale.
- Perform strategic planning, financial planning, administration and management of the department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology related field or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in the Payments Industry recommended.
- Requires the ability to hire, lead and manage senior technical individual contributor and management staffs.
- Requires to be technically sound with architecture (like event driven, microservice, pipe filter), Java/J2EE, Springboot, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Gen and Agentic AI in tech.
- Requires technical and people management skills to lead, appraise, motivate direct and indirect reports to deliver superior results.
