As a Senior Associate, Data Scientist - Model Risk Audit at Capital One, you'll be part of a team that's leading the next wave of disruption using the latest in computing and machine learning technologies. You'll review models and model risk practices across the enterprise, connect the dots to raise model risk issues, and provide assurance to the Audit Committee.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver breakthrough analytical solutions
- Leverage a broad stack of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more, to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data
- Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
- Translate complex work into tangible business goals
The ideal candidate is innovative, creative, a leader, and statistically-minded. You should have experience with machine learning, clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning.
Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics, or a Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree or PhD in a STEM field, experience working with AWS, and proficiency in Python, Scala, or R.
This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits.
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role vary by location: Charlotte, NC ($123,300 - $140,700), McLean, VA ($135,600 - $154,800), New York, NY ($148,000 - $168,900), Plano, TX ($123,300 - $140,700), and Richmond, VA ($123,300 - $140,700).
