Description
As an Assistant Garment Technologist - Womenswear, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the best quality and consistency across various product areas.
Reporting into the Product Technologist, you will work closely with the Product team, including Buyers, Merchandisers, and Designers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the product technology process from initial design pack creation to fitting and issuing technical information
- Managing suppliers to deliver high-quality products and providing feedback
- Taking ownership of product quality and delivery, managing and rectifying failures
- Encouraging a right-first-time approach and challenging suppliers to improve performance
- Engaging in product risk assessment and advising technical solutions
- Monitoring returns and communicating with the warehouse and suppliers regarding quality issues
- Advising the customer service team on product-related complaints
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience as an assistant garment technologist with skills in construction and manufacturing methods
- Technical knowledge gained in a fast-paced retail or supplier environment
- A flexible approach to adjusting to changing business needs
- Ability to lead fit sessions and convey technical information clearly
- Exceptional attention to technical detail and organisational skills
- Knowledge of current technical innovations in the fashion industry
- Technical knowledge of knitted and/or woven garment manufacturing and construction methods
