Description
We are seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to join our Developer Experience team at Capital One in Nottingham. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of software engineering and community advocacy, gathering feedback from our UK Tech organisation and sharing good engineering practices across the business.
You will be working with a technology stack that includes Java, TypeScript, or Python, as well as AWS or alternative cloud platforms, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
Responsibilities:
- Gather feedback from our UK Tech organisation and share good engineering practices across the business
- Act as a technical leader in the team, driving the delivery of complex and ambiguous projects
- Build relationships and influence platform-owning teams to support prioritisation and inner-sourcing opportunities with US teams
- Make a difference to each and every developer's experience, operating beyond the IDE to find the right solutions to problems
- Bring an analytical mindset with a clear focus on delivering value for both the organisation and our customers
Requirements:
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Java, TypeScript, Python)
- Experience with AWS or alternative cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Great communication skills, with the ability to operate as a Developer Advocate
- Ability to act as a technical leader in the team
